The Whole, By Any Other Name Is Still The Whole

Updated: Aug 27, 2018

If our original, natural state is peace, calm and happiness why is it so difficult to feel it, and to know it? It's because our mind, has created what appears to be, a single, unique version of itself, separate from its natural state. The key word here,..APPEARS to be separate.

Imagine a circle, and that the inside of that circle represents the original state of everything.

Whole, complete, perfect, nothing lacking, nothing needed,...just as it is.

Now, imagine that we take the circle's centre and separate it by calling its sections, triangles. The triangles may appear to be different than the original circle's centre above, but each triangle's natural state still consists of the circle's centre.

Whole, complete, perfect, nothing lacking, nothing needed,...just as it is.

Even if a triangle tried to isolate itself further by naming itself Bert, it would still be the complete version of its natural, original state. Just because a part of the centre is called BERT, does not mean that, that part of the centre is no longer there, or composed of something different.

Soon after the triangle named itself Bert, the triangle also started to believe that it was fat. But, as much as Bert believed it was fat, it could not change the fact that it still was,..the centre. Whole, complete, perfect, nothing lacking, nothing needed,...just as it was.

Even though over time, Bert the triangle continued to create thoughts about who it was, how it was different, and created a past based on what it perceived happened to it, it couldn't change the fact that it was the centre. Whole, complete, perfect, nothing lacking, nothing needed,...just as it was. The problem however, is that Bert no longer remembered that he was the centre, but believed and lived as though he was separate, incomplete, lacking, and unhappy.

In order for Bert to FEEL and live from his natural state, he needed to question the thoughts and beliefs that were telling him he was not whole, complete, perfect, nothing lacking, nothing needed,...just as Bert was. When a thought arose that was not peaceful, Bert asked himself, "what am I believing that is preventing me from seeing my centre? What evidence did I create to make me appear separate? What evidence was there to the contrary that was more in line with my centre?

Bert could repeat affirmations that he, was the centre, that he was whole and complete just as he was, but, the evidence he had accumulated indicating otherwise was too powerful. Bert needed to create a new habit of questioning any thought that made him feel different than the way he felt in the centre. By doing so, Bert eventually could perceive each moment from his centre rather than through his mind's imaginary thoughts, beliefs and perceptions of the past and projections of the future.

Bert realized he could still live life as a triangle, but could do so by perceiving each moment from his natural state of peace, calm and happiness. He could live life from his centre.
